Might rebarrel a 270 or 25-06 to a 338-06?
I have an old Parker Hale chambered in 270-winchester & a Ruger M-77 chambered in in 25-06.
I am thinking about taking one of them into a gunsmith and get it rechambered into a 338-06?
Any idea on how much this would cost?

In the 1st place, you don't simply rechamber to 338-06 from another caliber-it has to be rebarreled. Rebarreling includes the barrel price, & the labor involved in fitting the barrel to the action. I'm not sure what other people charges but I charge 150$-200$ including truing action face + cost of barrel. I'm NOT accepting more customers or trying to drum up business though.

You mean I can't just fire form a 25-06 barrel into a 338-06 barrel?
Just kidding I know I will have to rebarrel the rifle. My thread stated I might rebarrel a 270 or 25-06 to a 338-06.

Nothing is wrong with the 270-winchester. I have killed lots of critters with this 270-winchester over the last 28-years.
Yes I do reload.
I have in my gun safe a 25-05, 270-win & 280-rem.
I do not see enough gain in the 280-A.I. over the 280to spend the money to have the 280 rechamberedto it?
The 25-06 & 270 are close enough ballistic wise to flip a coin for the game and area I hunt.
I was thinking the 338-06 would make a good elk / bear gun.
The 25-06 or 270 would make a fine deer / antelope gun.
The 280 is my wife's rifle, so it is off limits.

Another idea, and 1 of my all time favorites, is the 35 Whelen. You might think about that 1.

I have looked at reloading manuals and bullet selection for the 35-Whelen & 338-06. The better bullet selection and pricefor the 338-06 made me pick it over the 35-Whelen. Nothing at all wrong with the 35-Whelen, but in the end I can onlypick one.

You don't have to get it "rebarreled"... You can get it rebored to .338, and chambered to .338-06... In some cases the smith may have to set the bbl back a thread or two too...
