Default Remington 760 300 Savage

So I have this Remington 760 in 300 Savage for over a year nowand it's a great shooter. I've never been able to figure out how to remove the bolt. Every instruction manual I've looked at never shows the removal of the bolt. I've been taking the trigger group out and cleaning the top of the bolt and the lugs with pipe cleaners and canned air and it seems to be working fine, but I'd rather be able to take the bolt out and do a good cleaning. Does anyone know if the bolt is removeable?

Anything that can be assembled can be dis-assembled. Go to the Remington website and download a manual. That will probably explain how to take it apart.

I've never had the need to disassemble my 7600, essentially it's a beefed up 870, I'd imagine bolt disassembly is similar.

You need to open the action, incert a drift the into the hole on the action tube "as close to the size of the hole you can get"and unscrew it,close the action and continue to pull the barrel action tube and bolt out of the receiver, its not that bad of a job but I dont recomend doing it for just a cleanning. The best way to clean it is to pull the trigger group, scrub it out the best you can with Break Free then use Brake Clean to wash everything out, respray liberalywith Break Free and let it sit on some rags overnight thenwipe down.
