I.D. an old 8 mm,for me .
On top of the reciever ,stamped " 1937 " . On left side of reciever" cecsloveska bronjovka,A,S,BRNO.And under this is,VZ 24.
I know little on Mausers ! Is this a Large or small ,ring Mauser ? I have a 98,large ring, the reciever is messed up,and would like to put the barrel onto this one. Will it fit ???????????? |
RE: I.D. an old 8 mm,for me .
you have a large ring Mauser.....and the barrel will fit if you take it to a smith that knows how to " fit" it...
Your 1937 BRNO is a fine action.....why not start there and build a truly fine custom gun..... |
RE: I.D. an old 8 mm,for me .
It' s a VZ 24 large ring. They are good rifles.
As for the barrel interchange. ?????? Some large ring receivers take small ring shank and threads. Check parallax.com Then go to curio' s and relics , it' s a forum like this and there is tons of info to be had for the asking. Good luck |

VZ-24. Its a large ring mauser 98 that uses a large ring barrel. Almost all Czech made rifles you will find are large ring, except the G33/40 mountain carbine which is pretty rare and has a distinctive looking buttplate.
milsurpshooter.net will get you to the Parallex website. |
