Went to a local gun show this AM. Doors were to open at 9:00. I got there about 9:15, and there was a line about 75-80 yds. long waiting already. Once I got inside, it wasn't too bad for a little bit, but as more people came in, soon it was like being in a sardine can. Gun shows around here are usually always packed, but today was something else. Seemed that a fair amount of transactions were taking place, also. I bought a couple of AR magazines, and was looking for a shotgun for my step-son. I found what I was looking for right off the bat, but figured I'd move around and look-see. When I got back to buy it, it was gone. For a change, things were selling. Guess the new administration has people worried, and they're "gettin it now!!" Very little .223 ammo around. Most of what there was was the steel-cased stuff.
Ran into a couple of old friends, and we all noted how it seemed that lots of buying going on. Prices ??? Out of this world !!!!
Another gun show in the area next weekend---lots of different vendors. I'll be checking it out also. Only two shows in the area all year, and they're one right after the other. Unbelieveable..........

I read on another forum that 20 round Colt marked magazines were selling for $25 a piece. And he said they were selling them, this was not an asking price. Did you notice that?? What brand of magazine did you buy, and if you do not mind telling us the price??
I sure hope the Colt magazines are worth $25 a piece. If they are then I am rich, I have got a bunch of them. Tom.

Didn't some moronnot long ago profess that in times like this, folks like us like to cling to our guns and religion???
All joking aside, I've noticed the same thing, even here in Michigan where we have over 10% unemployment. I think you have alot of people selling guns because they need the money, while demand is higher than normal due to fears about the new administration.
Gun shows are also a fun and inexpensive way (well, as long as you don't buy too much)... to spend an afternoon with friends and family. People may not go on weekned hunting, fishing, or snowmobiling trip, but they will usually do something funnear home.
Memberships at our gun club are up quite a bit this year. A family can have have a lot of fun plinking with a .22 at the range, or shooting a line of trap or skeet, instead of spending hundredsof dollars at an indoor water park.

I still think the Dems set this whole thing up, the loan crisis, the collapse just before the election, the bailouts. What a perfect storm for them. Kick our teeth in then put the screws to us. They forced the banks to make bad loans, forced the collapse just before the election knowing the people are stupid enough to blame Bush, almost guarantying the election, then after the election they have mass chaos making it easier to pass huge pork barrel spending and god only knows what other stuff is hidden in the pork bill. Make the people more Dependant on the Fed. Then start up the steam roller and bingo, welcome the new world order. Look at all the far left wachos Obongo has appointed to his staff, it is a who's who of socialism and gun grabbers, not to mention tax cheats. Why are they just throwing money at this? Why aren't they trying to change the policies that forced banks to make the bad loans? Why are so many of the former fanny Mae and Freddy mac managers on obongo's staff? Why the big push for wind power? Wind power only costs 4 times more than conventional energy sources. Why appoint a GE manager to be financial adviser? GE has a large stake in wind power don't they. You don't suppose there is any conflict of interest there do you? Not to mention GE owns NBC, think your going to get unbiased news from NBC?

Tom.....I noticed several different makes of magazines at the show, and most were in the $20-$25 dollar range. Some were less, but looked a little cheesy. I bought DPMS mags, as that's what I own. I paid $22 ea, if I remember right....
I probably could have gotten them cheaper mail order, but then shipping, and I've got them in my hot grubby hand right now......

Come on goatbrother, you don't really buy into that dem vs. conservative B.S. do you??? They are both on the same team my friend. The dems. play one portion of the population, and the reps. play the other. In the end, they both have the same end goals in mind.
Look, the reps. had the senate and house majority for 6 years WITH a rep. president (Bush), and what changed?? Did any of your gun rights get RESTORED? Did any of the entitlement programs get discontinued? And I wont insult your intelligence by asking if we became fiscally conservative.
For some reason idiot america needs things to get very very bad before waking the F up and seeing things for what they are. We are under a two party monarchy that is systematically chipping away at every civil liberty we have. Actually, the last 8 years has been a HUGE success for those who would see the constitution destroyed. I am sure the next 4 wont be any better.
One day people (I hope) will quit letting Fox News and CNN tell them who to vote for and vote for somebody who isn't the lesser of two evils. I must say though, this last bambozel that they pulled was a real dozzy. Pit a young black guy against the old white dude, neither of whom are worth two ****s, and watch American's squable over which is the least worse. All the while ignoring the fact that there were some truly great men running for the office. I would laugh if it wasn't so depressing.

...........EXACTLY !!! Don't even start to give me that BS about both parties being basically the same. Pehaps, stancel, you'd care to take a look at the NRA ratings on our Legislators and see which party is overwhelmingly anxious to take our (and yours too) guns from us. It sure ain't the Republicans !!!
You mark my words...Osama Obama and crew will do all in their power to pass additional gun restriction legislation, and make ammunition and reloading components cost prohibitive and traceable. It's out there on the horizon....best get your head out of the sand and take a good look around......
