Of those listed in the original post, the 270 isthe clear winner IMO. Delivers good energy on target at all reasonable ranges and has moderate recoil.
I don't like a 243, I justcan't help it...
A 300 WM is more than needed for deer.
A 30-30, not nearly as versatile as the other three and has a more limited effective range.

From the chamberings you listed there is no doubt that the 270 (win) is the optimum choice. IMO regardless of what the list included - the 270 Win is an ideal deer cartridge. There are many other good cartridges out there. But after shooting close to 50 deer with the 270 from point blank to 400+ yds the 270 has never failed me. I shot deer with various other chamberings but the 270 is my pet.

.308 winchester, I hunt Louisiana and have never had one take a step after the hit. Always go for the front sholder. Had a 7mm mag and it hurt my sholder to much for target shooting. 308 not hard and will take care of our 110 - 160pound deer down here with no problem. Use cheap ammp on NEF / H&R out to 300 yards with no problems.
