RE: Can' t decide

There are many quality made scopes on the market.I would say away from the low end scopes.I have old Redfield' s and Leupold' s.I haven' t had a bit of trouble from any of them. I' ve know several people who tried to save money buying Simmons and Tasco and had problems. My hunting partner' s Simmons had the crosshairs come loose. Last year I bought a Weaver V-24. It seems to be a good scope but in the higher power range the clarity leaves allot to be desired. For what you are looking for I would go with either a 2x7 or 3x9.The brand you choose is your decision. In scopes as a rule you get what you pay for,if you can afford to get a Leupold ,Zeiss or other quality optics you' ll be better off in the long run.

RE: Can' t decide

i for one use a broad spectrum of scopes , i use, tasco , simmons , bushnell , leupold , and have never really had any trouble with any of them , it just depends on how much money you have to spend , and what caliber , and what type of use , for a .270 deer rifle , i' de use a bushnell rifle scope for it myself unless it' s going to be used in hazardous rough , rugged terrain , then i' de opt to upgrade to a leupold simply because they can take more abuse , they will have to be rezeroed but , they won' t break quite as fast unless dropped scope side on a rock or something but , they won' t fog up as fast , or get a distorted image if they get wet or have water come down on them rather heavily ( waterproof ), but like i said it just depends on what use , what caliber , and how much money.
just my 2 cents worth :D:D:D

I would go with a Pentax Lightseeker II in 3-9X43. Good luck.

Thanks for the input. I think I' ll go with a variable power Leupold. Still not sure which magnification range though...Either 2x7 or 3x9

For a " cheaper" scope try the Swift line but the ones packaged in red boxes not the blue ones. Sorry don' t remember the name of the different product lines.
