RE: bolt action .22

I purchased a used Winchester Model 52B Sporter a couple of years ago for $400. Just like new. It's the reproduction model of the 52made in Japan during the 1990's. Absolute tack driver, and it's very similiar in size and weightto a Ruger 77, Winchester 70, or Remington 700. I use it all the time for practice -- very cheap with .22LR ammo. Mounted a Leupold 2-7x33 VX-1 on it. Also use if for squirrel hunting and plinking. I love it. I see them every now and then on Gunbroker.com for $500 or so. Stay away from the Browning reproduction 52's, though. They were made with prototype tooling, and do not have the quality that the Winchesters do.
