I'm currently thinking about buying an all purpose hunting rifle capable of taking coyotes to whitetails. The two front-runners I like are the Icon WS in .243 or the Encore Pro Hunter in .243 or .25-06. Both have features that I like so I'm having trouble deciding between the two. Admittedly, I'm obsessed with archery tackle and have little experience with rifles.
I'd like to hear some real world reviews on these two rifles. Anyone care to comment? Thanks.

I have (2) T/C Icon's in the 30TC and absolutely love them. I have one tucked away in the box and use the other for whitetail's. I have a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42 with the BDC on it and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Well if you buy the encore and later decide to muzzle load, you can just buy a barrel for that.
Or any other caliber that might tickle your fancy down the road, very versatile.

ICON. I had a Contender pistol and it was extremely accurate. I later bought an Encore rifle in 7-08 and it shot horribly. I even sent it back to T/C twice. I ended up trading it in on a Savage.
The ICON intrigues me. Too bad it doesn't come in a lefty version. I like the idea of the flat bottom receiver and alum block in the stock. I believe these should be accurate rifles in any chambering.
