Look no further...
Ruger Deerfield Model 99/44 in .44 Rem Mag. gg. |
RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
The Browning LT. WT. Stalker. It weighs a little more then the 6.5 pounds. Depending on the caliber. They go from right @ 7 pounds to almost 8 pounds with the Boss installed. The 270 and 30-06 are 7.38#' s w/o the Boss....MSRP is 825.00 for the standard caliber w/o the Boss .If you shop around you can get a much better price.

Ruger are you sure that the LT WT stalker comes with the Boss system ,the composite stalker has the boss I believe .

RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
halcon, I guess I should have been clearer. You are correct. The LT.WT BAR with the wood stock is not available with the Boss. The LT.WT. Stalker with the composite stock is available w or w/o the Boss. Rifles equipted with the Boss come w/o sights. The ones w/o the Boss sights are standard.
I had checked the Browning site earlier but never did look at the LT.WT. wood stock one.I stand corrected. Ruger Redhawk |
RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
One other thing. The BAR wood stock is called the LT.WT BAR.The BAR with the composite stock is called the " Stalker" . That' s the one I was originally talking about.Without going back into Browning' s site I' m sure the wood stocked model weighs more.hogwall was asking about a lightweight rifle, when the Stalker came to mind.

RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
i have a BAR safari chambered in 30-06sprg without the boss. it does not feel like 7.5lbs. seems lighter.

RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
You could add the Ruger mini 30 to the above list.

RE: Lightweight semi-auto Deer Rifle
the remington 7400 is real light.but i would rather pick a gun that will be able to be reliable for a second shot than the weight.
