Found a usedMossberg 500 20ga with fully rifled ported barrel and rifle sights at a local gun shop for $289.99 today. The gun has the full MossyOak Camo dip on it.I've been thinking about a 20 ga slugger for a while now. This one is the youth model with the butt spacer to increase LOP by about 1" if desired. Anyone know if this is a good price?

Also, anyone on here know what it would cost to have a gunsmith install a cantillever scope mount? I know it would screw up the camo dip, but I feel like the cantillever scope is the best way to go. I read an article once where Craig Boddington said he had it done on an 1100

ThatIS NOT a good buy for a used gun with only one barrel??
As far as the cantilever system. You can purchase a cantilever barrel (1) with it all ready part of the barrel or (2)you can have a smith drill and tap the receiver for a scope base or (3)use a saddle mount system that untilizes the triggerhousing pin and ejector screw holes to mount it. (1) choice being the best option in my option if you don't want it to be a dedicated deer gun only, if you do then option (2) is just as good if done correctly. Hope this helps? e-mail me if you have further questions?

$289 is kind of high for that gun. They probably only gave the person who sold or traded it to them $150 for it.
Sounds like a nice gun, maybe go back and offer $225 for it and if you get it spend the difference to get it drilled and tapped for a scope. The cantilevers (to me) always seem to set the scope too high.
