How do you like your 7mm-08 in Savage gun?
 

Anyone own a Savage rifle in a 7mm-08 that they would like to brag about? I have heard alot of good news about how accurate and what an excellent deer round it is.

No, I don' t have a 7mm-08 Rem Savage, but I do have a Remington 788 in 7mm-08. It is very accurate and does an excellent job on deer. I do have 3 other Savages that are all tack drivers so I would bet that a Savage in 7mm-08 Rem would shoot just as well.

I' ve got a savage model 16FSS in 7mm-08 and it is my favorite deer rifle.I used a savage 99 in 308 for years but when I bought the weather warrior in 7mm-08 I retired the 99.It is light to carry,very accurate,impervious to foul and wet weather,and the cartridge seems like the perfect caliber for deer hunting.Low recoil,great performance,cheap practice ammo from wally world($12@box win.pp' s) and excellant game performance with federal 140gr nosler paritions.Three bucks in three years with one shot each and none took another step,I love my 7mm-08 savage :) Would recommend the rifle and caliber to anyone looking for a good hunting set-up.

I have a Savage 116 Heavy Barrel 7mm-08 that I use only for 600+ yards woodchuck hunting! Now that is accurate... :D

Thanks guys, anyone else? You all have me drooling for my next rifle purchase. Can never have too many guns! Woodseye, your model Savage is exactly what I' ve been thinking about. I think I' ll wait and see if they put the new AccuTrigger in this model, I heard rumors that maybe later this year. Probably take forever to get one then.[X(]

Iv got a model 110 30-06 and love it can' t say enof about it and my next gun will be a savage good luck

Yes there are a lot of rumors floating around about the accu trigger becoming available in the regular lines.If it does it will be an improvement no doubt but may be tricky shooting with any kind of gloves on.I don' t think you can go wrong with a weather warrior savage and the 7mm-08 is IMO one of the very best deer calibers on the market.

I have heard it debated that the Savage is the most accurate out of the box. Can' t beat the price either.

the only thing i don' t like about my savage. is that it always is the only gun that i have to wipe with a silicone cloth evry week. if not i will have a lite dusting of rust on that gun.
but mine is a blued gun aswell. maybe it was just this particular model ( 10FCM ) but it is a pain to maintain compared to my other guns in the safe.

I must echo your comments. I had a Savage model 110 in 300 Win. Mag. at one time. The first year I bought it, I took it on a 7-day moose and brown bear trip where it rained during the entire hunt. I have never seen a gun get rusted as bad as that particular Savage did. My life is so much better now that that gun is no longer in my gun cabinet.
