Pssssst........Quilly,get a weather warrior model 16 stainless and be done with that stuff.You can get a stainless for about what a blued version of most rifles cost.My boys 11f was doing that also so I coated the barrel and now he just has to wipe the action after being out in damp weather.You could have the scout parkerized or teflon coated or ..........gasp...... paint it like I did one of mine [:o] Looks great and needs touch-up every couple years,but on a side note it don' t rust anymore.I call it Maine bog break up camo [&:]
