I got a email from buds guns saying all the AR manufactures and distributers had raised there prices as much as 200% on Wednesday after obama won is there any truth to this
Dear timothy,
---------------------------------------------------------------
It took a couple of days, but we have managed to stabilize our replacement cost on our best selling ARs and AKs. As reported on ABCs Nightline tonight, distributors nationwide raised prices as much as 200 percent on Wednesday. Our website prices are updated hourly 24/7 to reflect our current replacement cost on each make/model. We have since contacted each of our distributors and secured our reorder costs through the end of this year.
For example, the very popular Doublestar Mil-Spec M4 A3 .223 has returned to the original price of $699 Delivered.
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=411534646
Also back to $699 Delivered, the Century International Arms Model RI965X Black Synthetic 223.
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=55128
Earlier this week we ordered just about every AR we could get our hands on. As a result, we have hundreds of ARs enroute to us now via UPS. We are offering reserve orders, first come -first serve, on some of these incoming firearms, like the Smith & Wesson M&P 15R 5.45X39, Model 811011 for $879 Delivered.
http://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=55424
With all these .223 AR rifles flying off the shelves, you can bet ammo prices are the next thing to skyrocket. We have you covered there also. Our PMC .223 ammo currently remains at our pre-election price of $6.99 per box.

We appreciate your patience during this very difficult time. We will continue to work extremely hard to bring you the best prices we possibly can.
Thank you,

I was just at the local gun dealer by me and people were buying(he was out of AR's),just out of couriosity(spl) I asked what his .223 ammo was selling for being how I just got 1000 rounds of BlacK Hills thru Cabelas,he told me that he cant get any for at least a yr and a half(black hills),even his Rem is backorderd till this fall,he can still get Wolf but thats a hard sell. His handgun prices are up about 20%......I have 5000 rounds left I mean I wish I had about 5000 rounds
...Now its primer, bullets and powder time but it looks like cci primers is all Iam getting around here, powder is still ok.
If people were on top of things they would all ready have there guns.......Ammo is the big thing.

I say BS. Like so many other businesses he is seeing his sales way down. Money is friggin tight everywhere and people aren't spending it as freely these days.
Great scare tactics. Not first guy to use and won't be the last.
What some people won't do to make a sale.

Um, Uncle Matt... No offense my friend, but you might want to look around at
www.cabelas.com
www.midwayusa.com
www.cheaperthandirt.com
www.sportsmansguide.com
Ammo prices haven't gone up (yet), but stuff is selling like hotcakes. A bunch of the example websites above, are already showing "Out Of Stock" on the popular ammo brands.

I would think the gun shops would be slow on gun sells. Seems to me if you go to a shop buy a ar15 or what ever fill out the Fbi check form there know right where to come to pick up your guns.

The gun shop I generally go to has been busy from opening til closing. You have to spend an hour just to get waited on. Guns flying out the door.

Personally, I'm not gonna get that upset about it yet. I think it's just a rash of panic buying right now. I really feel things will return to normal (whatever that is...) in a reasonably short time. The sky's not falling around here just yet....
