With tax time approaching next year, I may look into a rifle barrel for my Encore. I already have a 270, and 30-30 in other rifles, not really wanting to double up....Giving the 308 or 7mm-08 a look at. I cant decide. Not stuck just on those two, as Im thinking I may want something larger incase I ever decide to go out west. What is your favorite to shoot out of the Encore?

i have a .25-06 Bull barrell on my Pro Hunter and love it.

If you're interested in a .300 barrel I've got that one that I've never used. I'd cut you a major deal on it.

You need to put that thing to work Jonathan. Wouldnt mind shooting it once just to see how it shoots. Not really looking for a cannon though. After looking at some balistics and what not....thinking about a 280. I doubt Ill ever get one any time soon. Just fun to think about and dream of.

I hear ya there. Thought about breaking the ole 30-30out this year lol. Never even hunted with it.

7mm-08 over the .308 would be my choice. depending on your situation however you may prefer the .308, in a .30 caliber I'd personaly like it to be a .30-06 or larger..... 300 mag...

Is it stainless and how much do you want for it?

My favorite encore barrel that I hunt with is a .405 Winchester.

I have the .280 Ackley Improved and love it. You can shoot both standard .280 for fire forming and then load them up a little hotter than the regular .280. The velocity is approaching the 7mm mag range with less powder and less recoil(not by much). It is one of the most accurate rifles I own. One of my friends has the standard .280 Rem and has taken everything from Coyote to Moose with it. It's a very good cartridge.
