Nice rifles fellas, keep em comin

I've had three, curently own two. First one is a 1975 bdl in 270. It's a real shooter. I have no idea how many deer I've taken with it. My other one is a 700 ss in 7mm saum. I've onlytaken two deer with it. Nothing wrong with it, I just can't leave my old 270 at home.

i have owned maybe 10, but now have only 2 model 700s: a 243 bdl (bought in 76') that is used for deer and will be given to my first grandaughter in a few years - and a bdl s/s 270 win which wears a beddedhs precision stock. both rifles are very accurate and have never let me down on deer, hogs, elk, moose, caribou, sheep, goat, and other stuff. as a hunting firearm,the 700 is hard to beat. must be so as the 700 is the best selling bolt action sporting rifle in american history.

My first centerfire was a 700 ADL in 243 Caliber in 1984 which I still have an will never part with. Since then I have had probably 8-10 and still have 6. Never an issue with any of them...ever! I have a couple of adl synthetics now that get most of the hunting duty as they are so ugly some scratches and dings could only help the looks . Every 1 of these guns would group very well with some loads and a couple with any load. Accuracy, function or dependability have never been an issue. Nothing fancy...just pure ol bland accurate tack drivers. The 700 stock fits me extremely well off the shelf also. Love em!

Never owned a 700. But did have two of its' predecessors, a 721 in .30/'06, and a 722 in 222 Rem. Had extractor trouble with the 721. No problems whatsoever with the 722, though. In addition, using a 55-grain bullet, that 722 would shoot all its' bullets thru a nickel-sized hole as long as you kept shooting.....

All 4 are awesome rifles. I have had the 7mm and the 3006 sense the late 80's

I had a 721--.30-06, and 2 722's--.222, and .244. I never had a problem with either of the 722's. but I too had extraction problems with the 721. The extractor would sometimes slip over the rim, leaving the fired shell in the chamber. This was not an unknown problem in the 721, and occasionally showed up in the 760, as well.

I believe that Remington made a change in the shape of the extractor when they went to the 700. Anyway, I have had 5 700's (still have 2) and have never had an extraction problem.

I have a mid 80s 700bdl in 30-06 / 3x9 redfield / fajen stock. Gun has taken numerous deer. Was my stepfathers and he gave to me in 2000. I have not taken deer with it only carried it a few times on a hunt. I will be solely using it this year though. I did some gun trading and it is the only "deer rifle" I have left other than a TC hawken ml. I do have complete confidence in the 700 to take whatever I see as far as I can make the kill shot.
