Cabela' s Alaskan Guide scopes
#1
Any thoughts? I read something not too long ago in a review that gave some of Cabela' s scopes a bad rating. The 30mm scopes look like a pretty good deal but I don' t see a Lifetime warranty on them. I might have to stick with Leopold or Nikon (the somewhat affordable scopes).
Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks.

I ordered an Alaskan Guide 3x12 compact. It was blurry around the edges and I couldn' t get a good focus. It was very bright, but the clarity was not as good as my 10 year old Burris Fullfield II. I sent it back and bought a Leupold vari XIII.

Cabelas has a no questions asked money back guarntee on everything. The Alaskan Guide scopes are about as close as you can get to industructable. A friend of mine has one on his 300 Sako Win Mag. and his sons model 70 270. He swears by them. He ussually only buys the best as money is no object to him.

They have excellent customer service and they replied to my email within 24 hours so that' s a thumbs up for me. Seems worth taking a look at for sure to me.

I think I' m going to try one. The 3-12x50 is only $319 and weighs only 17 oz. Sounds like a great scope for the money plus I know Cabela' s has very good customer service if I don' t like it. I would love to get a Leopold instead but I want a 10+ power without AO, 50mm Obj. and anything close to that from Leopold is over $700! I can pay half of that but that' s too much. I guess I' m half-way cheap!

I' ve got AG binocs and really like them.. My only thought on the AG scopes is that they seem heavy when compared to Leupy' s. I do a lot of shopping through Cabelas, though and would swear by their customer service

i;ve been thinking about gettin one myself for my sporterized springfield, and their are three companies that i buy alot of stuff from wether online or catalog, both have shown me they love their customers one is cabelas, one is ajax, and the other is midway usa. i;ve bought stuff from about every mail order company out there and somehow i screw somthing up, and they don;t really care who;s fault it is they just wanna make it right.

Thanks for all the replies everyone. I' m really torn between this scope and a Nikon 4-12x44 at the link handloader1 posted for around the same price. Guess I' ll get my new rifle first then worry about the scope second. I have a Nikon 3-9x40 that is really great but I' d like a little more power and light. I could have shot my elk a few days sooner this year if I had both of those.
