I have a new remington 700 270WSM which would be a short magnum action. It has a hinged floor plate and i can load 3+1 rounds in the magazine.....but when i go to chamber the last round the follower is cocked at such a bad angle that the bolt will not chamber the round right... if at all.I have already adjusted the trigger and have taken the magazine apart and put it back together but it has done no good? Any ideas?

Bigbulls... I pulled that out and noticed there are dents stamped into the side of the magwell. I took my REM 700 Sendero SFII 300RUM apart and it was the same way. This is not a solid peice from the factory. It is a peice of stamped steel that is split on one end.I wonder if i need to form that out a little?

I had a brain fart above when I was talking about the feed lips. They aren't part of the magazine but part of the receiver.
You can't just open up the whole thing because it won't fit in the receiver and floor plate again. You have to spread it out just a smidge with out spreading out the top and bottom.
