Llama .45 Auto (UPDATE)
Guys,
I found a deal on a .45 Llama for $270 brand new and asked around and really got alot of mixed feedback so help me out.
It's a MAX-I .45 2 tone.
I had a Llama .45 back in the 80's and liked it pretty well. I'm guessin they have only improved in quality.
For $270, would you buy it or let it go?
Stubblejumper, I like you opinion so you need to kick in your 2 cents.
Thanks guys!!

Picked up the Llama today and was suprised (I must say) at the looks of this 2 tone handgun.
Anyway, it cycled 2 boxes flawlessly. First was a box of Winchester 185 gr. Silvertips and the second was a box of Federal 165 gr. Hydro Shock.
Acuracy was ok to pretty good. I did not go out looking to be dead on today but more to rapid fire some factory loads to see how and get a feel for the way the gun cycled them.
Very pleased!!
Thanks for all the emails and input on the thread.

If you don't plan on shooting it a whole lot and you really like it then get it. Personally I would pass and put the money towards a better built and more reliable .45. I've looked at the gun that you're talking about and it doesn't look bad. I'm not a big fan of buying inexpensive guns for personal protection but for plinking why not.

RE: Llama .45 Auto (UPDATE)
I have not heard anything negative about the current production Gov't model MAX-I Llama .45 ACP's. I had one back in the 1980's myself as a plinker. It shot accurately and reliabily. It out performed other .45 ACP's, like Auto-Ordnance, Thompson, Norinco's, in the crowd I shot with at the time. Of course it is no Kimber, Wilson, or Brown, but there again it is 1/4 to 1/2 the cost. I have considered getting one myself just to tinker with for a plinking .45 ACP.

Hey 1shot,
I bought it anyway today. If I like it(or not) I'll let you know.
Even though I already bought it, I'd still like to here everyones feedback to this post.
Thanks guys.

I have owned the Llama Mini Max 45 for years. Cant tell you how many rounds Ive put through it. I keep it clean and in all I have shot it , it has never jamed or miss fired anything I put through it. Cant say that about my Colt Gold Cup. I think you will enjoy it. It wont let you down. By the way you got it at a good price.

Had a Lama 45 and one in 380. Ran around 4,000 rounds through it in the 2 years that I owned it. Friend still has it 10 years later and uses it for house protection. The 380 broke the spring after 2,000 rounds. They do take some punishment, you'll be happy with the gun.

I've had two of them, they have a tighter chamber than Colts. Had them polished and smoothed out, they turned out to be accurate, Only problem is the extractor broke on both of them ( cheap metal ) I replaced the extractors and they work fine.
