I busted up my shoulder in May in a motorcycle accident. Shotgun deer season here in Iowa is the 1st weekend in Dec. I doubt I will be able to handle the kick of my 12 gauge pump gun. I would like to know of several 20 gauge auto deer guns I could look at. We have a big gun show coming up in Sept. and I will be shopping for a small gauge gas gun to soften the beating on my shoulder. Any sugestions? I know a lot of you have favorites and I would love to hear your reviews.

What about going with handgun? It should be easier on the shoulder. The rules here in Iowa are that it has to be .357 or bigger and at least a 4" barrel.
A 1911 with hollow points, or a .357 magnum revolver will do quite well.

I usually carry my4 inch 625 .45 Colt or my 6 inch 28 in .357, both stoked with warm loads. I use them on drives in very heavy cover as I sneak. But as a stander, it is hard to hit with a handgun at 50 on a running buck. I do very well with my 870 with ghost ring sights. I may just carry the 28 this year as my primary. But I do want a new shotgun. A 20 somthing auto.

JMHO ,But I would look at the Browning Gold Hunter. One of the best feeling and best shooting shotguns I have ever put my hands on.
