RE: 700 mountain rifle or a-bolt hunter?
The last tiem I messed with a Browning A bolt has been some years back and they did not have adjustable triggers then(as far as I know) but if they do now, I made a mistake in the post earlier.

Like quilly said an a bolt medalion is a nice rifle and it has a verfy nice finsh, but My experience with Remingtons have been better. Not saying brownings are bad but Like it was posted in earlier posts, Remington has a better looking finish and the action seams tighter. Just my thoughts.

i like the rem too, but one issue of mine is that my family is a "browning" family....5 shotguns and 3 bows
it might be nice to have a browning rifle |

I don't know if you're locked in to these 2 rifles, but I'd recommend looking at the Winchester M70. 3 way safety, smooth action, claw retractor, accurate and sharp looking.

If you have to choose between a Remington or Browning go with the Remington. Once you shoot out the barrel or decide you want to build a custom gun then it's a whole lot easier then with the Remington.
