Trigger pull weight

What is your recommended trigger pull weight on you deer hunting rifle?

I have a Savage .270, new last year, and the pull is much to heavy. Does anyone know the factory weight for this gun?

Thank you in advance.

I like my trigger extremely light. Most people arent comfortable with how light i set my triggers but i am. The Savage my little bro has a really heavy trigger also. I dont know what its set at but i hate shooting it.

i'm not a gunsmith but i personlly wouldn't have a rifle with a trigger less than 3 pounds on a rifle that isn't a single shot with a hammer. this way you wouldn't have to worry as much about an accidental discharge from it being dropped or the bolt slamming forward. my T/C Prohunter is set between 2 1/2 and 3 pounds but it can't have an A.D. untill the hammer is cocked and i only cock the hammer when i'm looking through the scope and ready to shoot.

I have a Remington 700 XCR in .30-06 and the trigger pull out of the box was 3.75 pounds. I deer hunt in northern Minnesota in November with shooting gloves. With the gloves on the 3.75pound pull has been working out perfect. This rifle shoots clover leaf groups with $15.00 per box off-the-shelf Federal Power Shock ammo. Again thisis with the 3.75 pound trigger pull.

Wherever possible, I try to get mine at 2.75-3 #.

I'd say most would agree 2 1/2-3 lbs.

I've got my tikka (7mm) set at it's lightest setting (2lbs). I love it. As soon as I think "pull" it goes off. Because of that though I am extra careful when not actually hunting (back at the truck ) to make sure I pull the bolt up..just in case.

On my main deer rifle though I'd say it's about 3.25 (model seven 6mm). It's gotta great trigger also as far as being crisp.

My grandfater left me his ole winchester 88 .308. Man that trigger feels like it will never go off at the gun range...heavy and lots of creep. It mostly stays in the safe.

Anything else 4lbs

I'm pretty hip on trigger quality over pull weight, though I can't not like the 1 & 1/2 pounds I usually set........
