Default RE: Weather-proofing a rifle????

Paul, I had a few guns done with Gun cote the stuff sold thru Brownells. It is a baked in the oven 350 degree deal(I believe). Every last gun I had done with that stuff chipped I thought readliy too readily. My best friend had 2 remington custom rifles done with the stuff and it happened as well. I see the maker came out with his ceramic variation. Other then TNT I don't know what is tougher currently then Cerrakote. FOr extreme rough conditions I would have at least a stainless barrel on a gun and coated in that stuff..If'n I had to usea stainless steel riflein extreme weather(Alaska coastal) then it would be 100% coated with Cerrakote and bore coated as well.
