What height mounts/rings for 50mm...??
Well I just ordered a Zeiss 6.5-20x50 to go on the .243AI. I will most likely need "high" rings for the scope to clear right? Or would "mediums" work? And should I go with a sloped base or flat?

RE: What height mounts/rings for 50mm...??
Too many variables involved to determine the height of rings needed. Especially on a custom, and the length of the base.
For your base and that scope it depends on the distance you want to shoot. You should be able to get 600 and close to 700 yards with a standard base. You wil need a 20MOA base if you want a greater distance. Tom. |

Depends on the "ring" if you plan on using Talleys..call Talley and Gary can tell you exactly what ring height...With a Swaro or Kahles 50mm you can get away with lowTalley rings.

ORIGINAL: Ridge Runner jeep, the need for a sloped base depends on how far you intend to shoot, the zeiss if its a conquest doesn't have much adjustment since its a 1" tube so I'd say yes to the sloped base. glen seekins builds awesome bases and rings. as far as rings, all my 50mm loopys set in medium tactical rings. RR And, yes, its a Conquest, so your right not a whole lot of adjustment. I'll check out the Seekins. |

Just ordered some talleys for my 50mm......medium is what they say works...
I think every manufacturer tends to have a chart/guide.... |
RE: What height mounts/rings for 50mm...??
ORIGINAL: Ridge Runner www.seekinsprecision.com glen runs a 1 man shop, his bases and rings are second to none and just over 1/2 the price of loopy or badger. RR Are they that much better then Warne and Talleys? |

I've been noticing more talley's on high end customs than anything lately....
