Trigger Job, I' m impressed!
 

I just got back from the range, and I am very impressed with the results of my trigger job! It is a Winchester M-70 in 7MM Rem. Mag.
It started out with a 8 3/4 pound pull, the gunsmith took it down to 3 1/4 pounds, (that is the lowest he would go, which should be good and safe too for a hunting gun.)
I' m very impressed with the difference that this makes! It has tightened my groups greatly! With the heavy trigger I was always jerking the trigger and pulling my shots low to the right. Now with the 3 1/4 pound pull it is clean and crisp!
It is the best 25$ I' ve ever spent on a gun, and I' m going to have my others done too! I know that a lot of you already knew this I. I knew it too, just never had it done. I' d recommend lowering the trigger to anyone that wants a better shooting gun!

I agree...some of the best $ you can spend on your rifle. :D:D
I have a buddy that has a Ruger, and every year for the last 16 years....(yes 16 years), he' s said " this year, he' s getting the trigger done no matter what" ....LOL.... I really think he hates that gun....he' s missed alot of game with it, and mostly because it has about a 200lb trigger ;)

I know what you are saying, I procrastinated for three years! After shooting my 7MM yesterday though, I brought my .308 to the shop today!
With these " lawyer triggers" it is almost impossible to keep from jerking the trigger! As I said, its the best money I' ve ever spent!
BTW, people are so scared of the Lawyers these days that one gun shop in my area told me they could not lighten a trigger because their insurance company wouldn' t let them!

DJM, I am a smith and I have NEVER had my ins co. dictate my services. Not disbelieving you just amazed. I do TONS of trigger jobs.

I know it' s hard to believe but one smith I know has a similar insurance co., but he will do lighter ones if the customer signs a wavier. :eek:

AFTER READING YOU PAID $25.00 FOR A TRIGGER JOB, I THINK I JUST GOT ROBBED. I ALSO HAD TRIGGER WORK DONE AND PAID $75.00 FOR EACH RIFLE,
I GUESS HE WANTS TO ADD ANOTHER WING TO HIS SHOP

Hey basserman (and anyone else),
I just bought a Ruger MKII stainless. Do I really have to get an aftermarket trigger, or can a gunsmith help the factory trigger? It' s really not that bad, fairly crisp, just too heavy. Thanks. I didn' t want to start a whole new topic.
