If so I can give you my feed back on him and the company. The man is a genius when it comes to building rifles--if he wants to be. Or he can turn out fast work just to make a buck. I have seen both sides.

I owned one of the first ULA's. I did not take long to get rid of it. This was before his pairing with Colt firearms.

Prices started out at $700 for this rifle. They went up to $1500. Then a merger with Colt brought the price back down to $800. Now he wants $3,000?? What a joke.

The first one I had when I opened the floor plate, it fell on the floor(now I know why they call it a floor plate). I showed the rifle to several people. They all laughed at it. They thought a two year old child had painted it. Does his new rifle have a floor plate, or is it a blind magazine?? There have been so many.

My friend has a 300 Winchester Magnum that Melvin rebarreled. He actually left two inches of tooling marks in the middle of the barrel when he polished the barrel(before bluing), but the rifle does shoot well.

My advice is stay away, go with a good brand name UL. That Weatherby is a dandy. But then I have only known Melvin for over 30 years. Tom.

No one else has mentioned it yet, but if it were my choice I would get a Tikka Lite. It is an excellent rifle and does not cost an arm and a leg. Mine, a 300 Win Mag, is the most accurate out the box gun I have ever bought. The bolt is so smooth it really reminds you of its' big brother, a Sako

I have the 700 LSS in a 30/06.It is cosmetically the nicest rifle I have and with all the gunsmithing I have in it the most expensive rifle I have.I never use it.It doesn't balance well for me off hand.I prefer my Browning ABOLT stainless stalker,only a touch heavier and much better balanced for me.
The Remington's barrel does heat up super fast if practicing with it.I really have to be conscientious about the timing between shots.
I will have a Kimber at some point in time.
