D.D. ,
You're lucky indeed, Colt Sauers are veryhard to come by .
I've always admired the quality of these fine rifles .
A stark contrast to whats out there today.
Robert

Thank you Robert ...just got lucky ...your right about the rifles available today ..for the most part their just not the quality of the old boy's ..and if you do buy one of the finer (Blaser or Cooper) then it will cost you $3000 + ....for my money a Colt Sauer, Browning FN or Winchester pre 64 is hard to beat and they will NEVER make them again.

RR your a wise man to have at least bought one ... I have a weakness for German hunting rifles ...I love my Browning FN Mauser made in 1967 ..and this Sauer will be a welcome addition ...however it will be used like a rifle is supposed to be ..it will be babied but it will be hunted with ...I have no use for a pistol or rifle that I can't use in the field ...Ill let you guy's know when it arrives :D

Yeah I would have been a muchwiser man if I would have bought several of them. If I told you what I got it for,it might make you cry. They were 499.00 back then, since I worked at the shop for short time he let me have it for 399.00.Christmas was right around the corner and the owner knocked another 100 bucks off of it.So just for the rifle I have 299.00 plus the 4% FL state sales tax it was way back then.
I have other rifles I use in the field, This Sauer will continue to be a safe queen. All they are going to do it go up in value.I doubt there are many of NIB ones floating around.

I've personally never seen the gun. I remember my grandpa talking about it along time ago (my grandfather passed away 5 years ago). One of his hunting buddies has one in 30-06 is all I know. This man is in his 80s now, and has no one left to leave anything to. Maybe I will start talking guns with him the next time I see him and see if he'd be interested in selling.

I took a minute to check at gunsamerica.Prices vary quite a bit. There's a Sauer I assume rechambered for the 30-06 Ackley asking price 1100.00. Then others run as high as 2900.00 with allot in the lower to mid 2000.00 range. I saw one Colt Sauer "Drilling" and it was listed at 6500.00.I sure wish now I would have bought a bunch of them.
