Just to make NC's day and give him something to get excited over I figured Id chime in
Of course a 223 would be a good deer gun...I mean if given a choice Id pick it over the 243

DD, I gotta hand it to ya Bud! For a fella not tryin to stir sheet, you sure can pick a fine paddle!
BTW, I've always considered the .223 to be a little too light, but I'm thinking about using my EBG (Bushmaster M4) on deer this year!

Been looking for info on this very subject. I use aSavage 24f 12ga over .223.I got this gun because I like to hunt in thicker brush butwanted something I could use at a longer distance as well. I've been using Nosler partition but have yet to get a shotI felt comfortable with to see how it would perform. I'm no reloader (yet) so I need some input on brands. I have been able to get 100 to 140 yard accuracy using Rem. ManagedRecoil Buckhammer's in the12 so I'm not even sure now I'll use the .223 asmuch as I thought

It simply amazes me that there are those who think they need a "bush bustin' hammer" to get killin' done in the brush...............
