Do you tap your scope to settle in the crosshairs?

I agree with RR I have always done it when I make adjustments of more than 3-4 clicks. It doesn't matter what brand of scope I am using. It's a habit I got into many years ago when variable scopes first hit the market. The first variables left a lot to be desired. POI varied a lot with power changes.

I have always done the same thing. More of a habit I guess.

Depends on the scope, my Nikon's and Leupold's I don't feel the need to, go two clicks past and backup. For the Bushnells I do even though I go past and backup.

Never done it and never had a problem with point of impact shifting, and I've had my share of cheap 40 dollars scopes from simmons, bushnell, tasco, barska and BSA. I have read about it, and maybe it was an issue back in the 60's and 70's but I have never had a scope that needed it since the early 80's.
If my scope needs be beat on to work correctly I'm going to return it and get a different one.
Now I have heard with the side focus parallax scopes you need to turn it one way, then back. Which is why I like the objective adjustable scopes better.
