i just bought some 500 rounds of federal champion ammo and it was 20 dollars. i would like some really cheap plinking ammo and im not interested in spending 20 dollars for plinking ammo. any decent plinking ammo that is real cheap?
I have had some trouble with the cheaper .22 ammo (Thunderbolt) feeding in my semi autos.

I only buy the Federal bulk ammo. Had way too many misfires with the other 2 brands mentioned.

I picked up a couple of bricks of American Eagle for $15 a brick. Not bad ammo for the price and worked better than the Thunderbolt. The cheapest I've seen the Federal is still close to $20 a brick. $20 a brick for a lot of fun is still not much. If I wasn't handloading the premium loads for my 7mm mag I'd have to be buying them for $42/box of 20. Does $20 for a brick seem too expensive now?

Remington .22 ammo, especially the "thunderbolt" performs exactly as if Remington sets up all the primed cases and then just throws a handful of powder at them before seating the bullet. Some get the powder...some don't. Consistant? What's that?
