RE: good bipod for .22?
Chances are, your Savage MkII doesn't have a Picatinny Rail, so the first one won't work.
Second one "clamps" onto the barrel (think scratching the stock is bad, try marring the finish off the steel and having it rust?!). Looks like the thing doesn't fit all the barrel diameters from reading the reviews, so there's no guarantee you're even going to get it to hold tight if it fits at all. I'd pass on the second one, too. Yeah, inexpensive, but you get what you pay for. I've used Harris bipods for years and am perfectly happy with them. Sure, going to cost you three times what you'll pay for this one. |

bipods that clamp onto a barrel are as useless as tits on a boar, as well as anything else made by Leapers.

so you dont think the first one would work on my gun???
i wont get the clamp on |
RE: good bipod for .22?
No. I've looked on the Savage website and the none of the wood-stocked Mk IIs have a Picatinny Rail. I didn't look at the composite stocks.
Unless you buy a rail and bolt it to the forearm of your rifle, the first bipod won't mount on your rifle, either. There would likely be little advantage buying a rail and doing this. By the time you finish, you could've bought a decent Harris bipod which doesn't require the rail, just a swivel stud. |
RE: good bipod for .22?
do you possibly have a link for a good inexpensive harris bipod?
