I also agree that the WSM's in general are easy to find an accurate reload for. Other cartridges I've reloaded for require lots of trial and error to find speed and accuracy but the WSM calibers have such a big sweet spot even TimberCreek could find a reload for them! (you started) LOL!

300 WSM ammo is getting more and more ubiquitous all the time. Hell even Wal-Mart sells it now. In this day and age, hard to find ammo is a poor excuse for any currently in production and moderately successful cartridge. Spin hypotheticals all you like.
I've seen very good accuracy from both the Win Mag and WSM. Its largely rifle, shooter, load and scope dependant. My WSM does everything I need it too, and I cannot envision myself ever saying.. gee if I'd only gotten the win mag instead.
Nothing wrong with the win mag at all. I find the WSM handier in the field and easier on the shoulder, thats why its my pick of the two.

I just located and bought a brand new model 70 classic super grade in 300wsm after 6 months of looking for one. She's beautiful and kicks just like my 06 but ballistically is flatter. I love a short action. 300WSM gets my vote.

I chose the WSM also. Bought one last year. It kicked a lot worse than my 30/06, but after a lil work, it is one SWEET shooting gun. I dont reload, and have always shot Winchester Ballistic Tips, but after what I saw with the two deer that I shot last season, I will be trying a bonded bullet this year. I shoot in the shoulder and the doe I shot could fit a football in the hole in her chest. I have actually gotten comfortable taking shots over 300 yards, which I never did with my 06.
