Just which one is the better model bolt action, shooting wise and service wise. Most likely it would be 300 wsm or 300 wm.

They make the classic series in Mod. 14-114 bolt action, The 12 series varmit, the Weather Warrior Series in mod. 16-116, The Hunter Series is Mod. 11-111, or the package series that covers Mod. 10-110, 11-111, 16- 116. All are bolt actions and are basically the same quality action, some are short action and some are long action. The 300 wsm is short and the 300 win. mag is long. As far as Caliber choice noneare better than the other IMO. All depends on what you want to use it for, and how much recoil you can handle.

I like my 12BVSS in 300WSM. They also make a similar gun with a McMillan stock which would be even better. Savage makes a great factory rifle. Maybe the best. Has Savage passed the Rem 700 yet?

I think they're all comparable. I suppose the ones made from stainless steel and plastic are better for weather resistance. I've seen a few with stainless and figured walnut, and the combo was very attractive. But as far as accuracy and durability are concerned, they're about the same if you are the type who takes care of his arms....
