RE: Which Gun
Assuming all accessories (barrels, stocks, etc.) and variety of ammo are still available, the only logical choice would be a Remington 870. With component changes, this gun can cover personal protection, upland, waterfowl, big game, small game, and recreation. It wins out over the Encore due to shot capacity. It even wins over the Benelli SBE I hunt with because of accessories. If it is made for a shotgun, it is made for an 870 first!

RE: Which Gun
I have a Winchester Model 70 that was factory bored for the WTHRBY 300 MAG. Now that Winchester has the 300 WIN MAG and 300 WSM, I don't think they make a gun that shoots the WTHRBY 300 MAG nowadays.
Conclusion: Of all my guns, this is the ONE I would keep. P.S. Deadly out to 800Yrds with the proper amo/calculations. |
