Default Words of wisdom

Read a couple of posts yesterday, one of which included the words "..eat right up to the hole". (not THAT hole, it was a reference to bullet size and speed). It was later attributed to Elmer Keith.

One of my favorites is from Jack O' Conner "... at exactly what point during the animals death did the bullet fail?" (sic)

I'm sure there are a million of these little sayings that you've heard and remembered over the years. I'd like to hear some of them.

"shoots five into one ragged hole" (I guess as opposed to one clean cut hole)

"can cover three with a dime" (I don't have any dimes...spent them all on bullets and powder)

"all day" (meaning of course the gun in question can shoot accordingly 'all day') not just part of the day.

"tactical" (which at one time meant somehow connected to the military but now means anything black)

"there are no dumb questions" (apparently the originator of this little quip never read all the questions)

Yeah, on the other hand, there arenearly as many "snipets of wisdom" out there that reflect the ignorance and provincial nature of the originator.

Somewhere in every loading manual are the words "always start with minimum loads". In my younger and much dumber days I read this to mean "start at the top and stay there as long as nothing bad happens".
Their good advise, my bad interpretation.

This one is very lame, and overused, but always bears truth.

#1) Drives nails @ 300 yards = accurate.
2) Keep your dick beaters off my rifle = Telling friend not to touch your rifle.
3) If a man was in his tree stand and his wife wasn't around, would he still be wrong = married to a bitch.

I could keep going??!!
