Briman is right! The whole concept of the scout rifle is to be able to shoot quickly at close range for defense/tactical/hunting at close range-to me,you have to give up too much precision.

Precision as in accuracy? I was looking forward to buying one, but this isnt very encouraging. I would have thought, fast shooting and light rifle would be a great combo for hunting. I also thought they would be very accurate.

Also, AR-15's are illegal here in Australia :(.

Have to resurrect this, the Steyr Scout is a fine hunting rifle, I have made hits on game to 400yds, and find no real hindrance in longer ranges, but so many pluses in 200 yds and under, where most game is harvested, that far outweigh any downside. It is an incredible weapon.
