A good dual pourpose rifle would be a 300 Weatherby standard or improved or a 300WSM. There are of course many choices but if you look at the Williamsport web site you'll see a lot of 300 Weatherbys and 300 WSM cartrides winning competitions. Those cartridges will also shoot 210 grain bullets very well which have a high BC and excellent down range energy for Hunting. The 300 Wby Improved will also handle the 240 Grain SMK's which are excellent down range killing bullets. Stay with a minimum barrel length of 32" and you'll be surprised at the velocity you can get out of a 300WSM. Mine is shooting a 210 Berger at 2960fps and is extreamly accurate. Either of the 300 Weatherbys I like the 36" barrel. Long Range hunting rifle only, I would like to stick with a 338-378 Weatherby Mag 36" min. length Barrel shooting a 300 Grain SMK. OH MY!! That is some serious down range energy.

Well, you said that money wasn't an issue, no?

Ah! jeepkid beat me to it! I'll leave it up anyway. They're nice rifles but the real kicker is that the bullets are turned on a CNC lathe from a solid piece of copper! The bad news is that you can only get the bullets through Cheytac. But if you can afford the rifle then what's the big deal with spending $20 for a bullet.

I suggest the Dakota Arms Longbow. The run right around 5K give or take a couple hundred. Add another $1000-1500 for a good scope, and another 200 for some badger rings and you are set. Chambered for the .338 Lapua Mag. The company guarantees 1/2 MOA out to 1500 meters with the rifle. I know, there are other good and some better choices, but the .338 LM is not a bad choice by any means. Google it and check the downrange ballistics. Impressive to say the lease.

If you're only looking to range hunt, remington makes some customs for target shooting.....certainly get a target rifle, not some hunting rifle.....if you want ot shoot 600 or 1000yds.

Then its more up to which cartridge. Maybe a .338 Lapua Mag. I think benelli, or beretta, sako makes a target rifle in this caliber.
