In my honest opinion after owning one I don't think they are any more accurate than an 870 or 500 when properly set up. Not that they are bad guns by any means, just I don't think they are the ultra accurate weapons people believe them to be. They still have the same twist rate as most other shotguns (slow).
I know plenty of people that have 870 and mossberg 500's with cantilever barrels that shoot groups as good as most H&Rs do. I am talking 1.5-2 inch groups at 100 yards off from a bench. The trick is finding what your gun likes I think.
You feed a H&R ultra ammo it doesn't like and it won't be very impressive in the accuracy department.
Mine was MUCH better on recoil because of the weight though and it had a nicer trigger than most shotguns.
