Well went out and picked up a 20ga Mossberg sluggun for next year.Went out and shot today with the winchester superX slugs, the gun really is a great little shooter.
I am wondering if anyone has tried the tipped Federal Barnes Expanders and your
thoughts?

I picked up the tipped Barnes this year on sale for deer season. I took a button buck with one from my tree stand, it shattered the left shoulder, took out the left lung, heart, right lung and cut a 1" swath through 4 ribs on the way out the right side. They group well on the range also. The tipped Barnes are what I use in my ML also.

I'm using an 870 with rifled cantilever barrel and a bushnell multi-reticle red-dot. Bench rest at the range, using the 1 MOA dot, I can keep a 2" group at 100 yds. In the field, I use the circle-dot reticle, or the 6 MOA dot, and I know the slug is going inside it, which is good enough for a kill as most shots are still w/in 100 yds.
