I have a bar .270, used for deer/antelope out west, I put a leupold vx-iii 4.5-14x40 on it and it looks amazing. I have the B&C reticle which with the right ammo shows me where to aim out to 500yds, when set dead on at 200yds, I shot an antelope at 300yds with 20 or 30mph winds and it went right down! It shows 10mph wind drifts on it as well, got it off ebay for a good deal. Its not the cheapest nor the most expensive scope. Personally price as little influence on me as far as firearms go, I want quality, and if its going to be passed down to my son/grandson, techniqually I'll /they will be saving money.

You will not get more scope for the $$$ than out of a Nikon Buckmasters or Monarch. Great quality and prices. shop around a little and then go to www.theopticzone.com and call Jon and Tammi and ask for a little extra off.

Good Luck

Zeiss scopes are great. So are Swarovski and Kahles. Schmidt & Bender are excellent-bring money. Nikons are OK, as well as the expensive Bushnells!

A Leupold 2X-7X would be great on a BAR.

I just got a 30-06 BAR Grade II from 1970.I asked the same question .Wound up putting a Trijicon. scope on it .I could not be more pleased. The scope listed for $499.99.I got it for $325.00.I love it .
Where did you get a Trijicon for that kind of price? Which model?

Blurris does offer a forever warranty and good reason for it. They compare opticallywith a 3200 but the Monarch is much better. I think he already bought the best scope for an excellent price.

My guy who I deal with all of the time had a Trijicon Accupoint BAC 3x9x40Advanced Dual-Illuminated riflescope (Fiber Optic and Tritium). It had been on the shelf for almost a year.He had a price of $499.99 on it Being near the end of the year I kinda reminded him about what he would have to pay in taxes on his inventory.said he would take $350.00 for it .I ask if he would take $300.00.He said we will split the difference so I got it for $325.00 I do a lot of business with him so that probally helped.

havent boughtone yet but i did completely took the scope off and inspected it and found that the front half would twist about 1/4"!!
so i called up bushnell and discussed the issues i was having, and they told me to send it back and most likely they would offer me an upgrade at a fraction of the cost!
either way im buying a different scope for this gun and it would be nice to get a more expesive one butlogic is telling me to go with the monarch.

got ahold of bushnell today about the scope i sent back [it was a 4-12 x40 ao sportsmans]and they said they had already shipped out a replacement. i told them that in the letter i sent i did not want a replacement! i wanted an upgrade! they asked me what i would like so i said a 3200 4-12 x 40 ao with ballistic reticle. she typed it in and said she would give it to me for 175.00 at my door by friday!! and i could keep the one that already shipped!!!! so i went with it!!! i think it was a good deal considering cabelas sells them for 399.00!
thats great customer service!!!!
