RE: Federal Fusions
No need to buy expensive bullets for deer. I use the $11.00 per box Federal Power Shock ammo and have had great success, including this 260 pound buck I shot last fall that dropped on the spot from a .30-06 150gr. at 60 yards. Just the right amount of expansion, and they shoot clover leaves at 100 yards on paper through my Remington 700XCR.

It's hard to beat the 100gr CoreLokts on whitetails, I've killed about 85 with that one bullet alone...

RE: Federal Fusions
I also use the 165 grain in my 308, thats all we have ever used inour guns were 165s. They get the job done right away.
ORIGINAL: okgobbler I shoot the 165gr fusions in my .308. I am very pleased. Last year I shot a buck from 16 yds with incredible expansion. The chest cavity looked like a bowl of melted jello. bang, flop. By the way, the .308 with fusions is my only rifle, I don't reload for. I really like the 100 gr sierra gamekings in my .243 for deer. |
