this guy wants me to trade my matthews bow fo his gun. it is a Savage 30-06 with a Nikko scope. He says that he can put 5 rounds through a copenhagen lid with it. I find that hard to believe with the current setup. I dont have way to shoot it myself unlessI go ahead and tade. What do yall think? Thanks.

They generaly do shoot pretty well i think & from what i have read& heard& my model 116 does.
Your doubting it because of those scope rings maybe? Those can be easly changed.

My first question would be at what distance, but a chew can lid is pretty darn big! It may shoot better than that with the right person behind it. However if I was buying a rifle and I was told it only shot groups like that I would pass, unless I could shoot it first.
I had a savage 30-06 when I was younger with a cheap 30 dollar bushnell scope on it, and it would shoot 1-2 inch groups off from a bench at 100 yards.
I would check and see what each is worth, your bow could very well be worth more than that gun. You might be better off selling your bow out right and then going and buying a brand new gun. You can get Stevens 200's for around 300 bucks, and they are pretty much a savage 110 without the accu trigger.

A cope lid's about 2.5" wide...if that's at 100 yards that doesn't impress me
. That looks like a Savage 111f, about a $400-450 rifle brandnew, without the scope. Unless you can shoot a couple groups with it first that go 1.5" or less, I would pass.

I dont chew or now much about bows except they have strings etc
.Or whats a good trade or not( dosnt sound like its on a very equal bases tho).
But it seems that size target should be atabout 300 yrds & it is a kinda funny looking rifle( not because its a savage tho
)
Just those odd rings( it dosnt have iron sights to does it?)& thatspray painted look etc( or maybe thats just my eyes)
