I am looking in to a new varmit/ coyote rig and like the the Savage Preadator hunter rifle in .204 Ruger with a Bushnell elite 4200 6-24x40mm. I have a few friends with savages and my dad has one and i like them. How have your guy's expericences been with savage?[/align]

They're the best you can find as far as inexpensive rifles go!

I own a 300. short mag savage, and a smokeless powder muzzle loader. Ilove the acuracy, and acutrigger, which is ussually set at around 2 lbs from the factory (on both of my guns), lighter than most manufacuturers. It would be neat to try the 1.5 min pound on varmints with this gun. It seems that the 'stainless barrells' will need to be maintained to prevent rust.I am looking into a 204 as well. Not sure which gun tochoose yet though

The best group American Rifleman could shoot with it was .92, I consider that unacceptable with a varmintgun. Considering it's a smallbore and marketed as a varmint gun .5 moa is my min accuracy. I really think it's true crap.
