Default how fardo you shoot a muzzleloader

ow far do you guys shoot your muzzleloader i am looking at getting one thinking a cva optima also ow long does it take you to reload a ml

Shot a doe at 248 steps with my T/C Encore using 150grains of pyrodex pellets and 240 grain Hornady XTPs.Took a Turkeys head off at 30 yards with the same load.

you can use bullets for turkey in a muzzleloader
ORIGINAL: Swampdog

I sighted mine in at 75yrds with just open sights,I used 2 paradox at 50 each and 250 sabit...I have a olderT/C Black Diamond 50 cal.....

I have killed things out to 170ish....Sighted in at 100 shot out to 225 for verification...

i own a cva optima and it has a bdc scope on it and i have killed deer at 275yds. it is a awesome gun i sighted it in at a 100 yds. and you can touch all three shots together.....

I figure a muzzleloader is a good 100-150 yard rifle. I use 90gr Pyrodex & a 240-250gr XTP.

Peeps telling you about 200+ yard shots.. be cautious, if you're thinking about using that as a measure. 200 yards is a long way with a muzzleloader. Don't count on it.

Scope wasnt legal in Mn on ML and still dont think its legal...only hunted with it once went back to bow.Did I say I love Bowhunting.....I borrow it out to people I know if they want to ML hunt.....

Whats that noise? Oh, its just my BS detector going off. Keep it to 100 yards. these things drop like rocks when you get em out there. Guys think that long shots mean they are incredible hunters. It means they suck because they cant get any closer.
