If you can't beat them just buy your competition or import Russian Junk . Whatever helps the bottom line.

They are the same rifles that Charles Daly use to import. Made by Zastavia in Czechloslovokia (sp).

I wasn't sure where they were built. I've always heard good things about the Mauser action, and it's a very nice looking rifle.

When did Remington buy Bushmaster? Are they going to keep all of Bushmaster's product lines, or are they cutting it back to producing just this varmint model?

Zastava is in serbia. The Czech made rifles are CZ, and are far higher in quality.

Remington didn't buy Bushmaster. Cerberus holdings bought bothBushmaster and Remington in the last year. Remington is branding Bushmaster rifles that are set up for hunting/varminting. I think its a real good situation for both companies, Remington gets to expand their line with high end rifles, Bushmaster gets to build rifles for a more traditional hunting market. Its all good for us as well- teh more companies hat make or market AR-15s and the more versions put into the hands of sportsmen across the country, the harder they will be to ban without serious political fallout.

I just looked at the remington website. Remington was smart enough to send 5-rd magazines with the rifles which should make them legal to hunt with in most places. 5-rd magazines for an AR aren't all that easy to find. I'll give credit to Remington for for uncanny the uncanny intelligence that I usually don't perceive in Remington to include such magazines with the rifle- the magazines along with the marketing is very good politically and in a practical sense. Of course if I bought one, I'd probably sell the 5-rd magazine and stick with 20 rounders.

Modus Operandi for Cerberus in a lot of cases is to buy up a company make it profitable so it is attractive to potential buyers.
