Sako, no question. I dont buy the argument that the a-bolt has less felt recoil, even if its heavier. Rifle fit has a huge impact on felt recoil. Shoulder them both, which ever you think fits the best will probably feel the best at the range.

I bought a 75 300 WSM, added a limbsaver and its a blast to shoot. My father will shoot it next year, he is pushing 70 yrs old, and he likes it better than his '06.

As a side note, all three made it to my final list, in fact in that order. None of which were on my short list when I started. I had money to burn and was looking at $4000+ customs but it came down to gut feel. I almost bought a 270 WSM Ultralight for a 7.5 lb. scoped sheep rifle, but after a few more miles on my Sako 75, the extra couple of ounces I will handle.

I would buy a Sako 75 in 270WSM if I came across one though.

#1 choice is a-bolt with sako being 2nd choice.

Goodness...if I had the money to do it the Sako would be a no brainer. Those guns are a work of art! They are at a different level than the others mentioned...no real comparison.

I don’t know and maybe I’m missing something but the I don’t see the Weatherby Mark V Ultralight offered in th 300 WSM...

I don’t have any experience in the Browning or Weatherby but I sure like my Sako...;)

I would take all three, build a fire with them, and warm up a little as I called my localgun shop to order a Remington.:D

They are all fine rifles, the one you should get is the one that feels the best when you hold it and shoot it.

The Browing mountain TI weighs 5.8lbs.; The Sako 85 finnlight comp/stainless weighs about 6.6lbs. My father has a regular a-bolt in 300wsm with a Leupold vx-2 3-9 and its shoots great.
