Ditto that, with the exception of the Savage MKII.
An older remington bolt action, particularly the 541 or 581, a CZ 452, Savage MKII,or browning T-bolt would be at the top of my list. If it isn't accurate enough to make a head shot on a squirrel every time, I wouldn't use it.

well i just gave options of guns in a $3oo dollar range, that are available in my area. i have seen all or most of those rifles, and i would have about 20 options except it only allowed for 10.

Simple answer. Model 82 Kimber(left handed). Followed closely by the old Remington 541-T. Or the left handed 581.
If accuracy is not paramount then I would go with the 9422, or possibly the Marlin lever action(39). The 10/22 is OK if it is a custom. The standard 10/22is not accurate enough, nor reliable enough. Tom.

The best is between the 10/22 and the CZ. I like both of them, but for hunting I would rather have my 10/22. I shoot more consistent freehanded with it when Im hunting. But the CZ is defenitley one of my top favorite .22 long rifles for hunting.

I dont have alot of experience with .22's but i can say my 10/22 is very accurate. Reaching out to 100+ yrds, i can take out small Florida grey squirrels all day long. Im partial to Ruger anyways ... i have never had a lick of problems with it and it repeats performance every time. Im sure there are other more accurate guns or what ever but in my opinion its a dang good gun.
