Default Over/Under ideas

I'm thinking about purchasing an over/under shotgun for next season. I don't want to spend a fortune and may look for a used one. I've also heard that some pack quite a kick such as Ruger. Any ideas regarding manufacturers etc. thanks.

Browning Citori. You should be able to find a used one in the 800-1000 range. If you want to save more, try a Miroku made Charles Daly. Miroku makes the Browings too. I paid 650 for one almost new in the box. Major difference would be the Browning model will have choke tubes, which is huge for me. As for recoil, two guns weighing the same with the same shells will have the same recoil. If the gun fits properly, it will be percieved as less. My browning fit me like a glove off the rack..

Another vote for the Citori. I really really love mine.

A buddy of mine just bought one of the Mossberg Silver O/U and it seems like a nice gun. It shoulders and comes up nice but I've not shot it. It is less than half the cost of my Citori.

My only choice is ruger red label. Absolutely best over-under in that price range. If you can afford it,the browning cynergcy Is MY pick.

I have owned Beretta 686's and Browning Citoris, and I prefer the Beretta. I have handled many Rugers, and everyone has had a loose action.

I'll cast another vote for a Citori. I've owned several Berettas, but the Brownings have been a little more trouble free for me.

A good reliable 0/U that i like, isthe Valmet 412. It can be had in several bbl lengths, 20 or 12ga., and also has several "rifle" bbls in different cartridges that will interchange on the same action...

I've been shooting mine since 1980 and it's been a great gun!!

Nice used ones sell for well under $1,000.00

I have owned several Berettas myself and am curious what kind of "trouble" you have had with them?
