what do you guys think of the
MOSSBERG MAVERICK SHOTGUN
i was thinking about getting the 88 slug model what do you think is this a good rifle i seen there made in the usa which i like
would you buy this gun if not what shotgun would you buy for under 200 bucks new or used
88™ Slug model features a 3" chamber, 6-shot capacity and an interchangeable fully rifled 24" non-ported barrel with adjustable rifle sights. A blued metal finish and a rugged black synthetic stock and forearm are also included.

They are basically a mossbeg 500, so yes they are a perfectly fine gun for the price.
You will need a smooth bore barrel for birds and small game though. I stated why in one of your other posts.

ok paul let me ask you this you get this gun for xmas a parants give
you might get it early but not before gun season is over
do you buy the smooth bore to use for birds turkey rabbit what ever and buy the rifled barrelbeforegun season in08 or another gun
or the otherway around andjust have the slug gun siting around

Well if your going to already miss gun season get the bird barrel now so you can shoot it. Then get a rifled barrel later when you can afford it and spend the summer finding a good load for it and learning to shoot it well.
Or look for a combo model and get both.

thats what i was thinking i can use the smooth bore for the spring summer get good with it find out how the gun works and so on and if need be a defence gun never know when your need one
if i go to buy another barrel how much more is it usasly to just buy another barrel iknow the mavrick barrel is like 50 bucks cheaper
is it that way with all make and models for another 50 bucks i think i wold just buy aother complete gun

ok well i know pretty much anything mossberg, remington, and winchester are good guns they have some guns that people dont like but for the most part they all make good shotguns, i also like H&R because i like singles i would go with a H&R shotgun then buy the rifled barrle in a 12 or 20 ga for about 100 bucks
