I have a friend that uses one for hunting powerlines ans he drops deer at 400+ yards all the time. Sighted in 4'' high at 300 yards.

The 25/06 is one of the magic calibers. It shoots much better than it should. 25/06s tend to be very accurate. It is an excellent choice for caribou and smaller game.

Generally a Tac driver at least everyone I have owned has been. I have been using 700's in this caliber and have no experience with other brands.

ORIGINAL: Lubricious

ORIGINAL: CZ2506

Does Remington offer the 700 BDL in 25-06? I didn't think so but whatever gun you select, in my experience, longer barrel is better. faster twist is better. good trigger is a must.
They sure do, just looked at a few on gunbroker.
Wonder why they don't list it on their website? http://www.remington.com/products/firearms/centerfire_rifles/model_700/model_700_BDL_specs.asp

Good luck with the 25. You're gonna love it.

It will kill any elk ,black bear or moose that ever walked as well.My son took a 3pt bull elk at over 400 yards this fall with a .25-06 using my handloads 120gr HP Hornady/Win cases/Fed Mag primer and 54gr of H4831SC.Complete penetration taking out a rib entering and another exiting with the animal dropping within 100yards of being hit.A black bear one shot last spring and a lot of mulies and WT deer over the past 3 years. It behaves like a .270 with the above load and cloverleafs 3 shot groups..................hard to find fault............Harold

If I could ever make up my mind on what type round I want the 25-06 is going to be one of my next cartridges. Everything I've read on this caliber says in reference to deer size game or smaller if you can see it you can kill it. Of course the accuracy of the shooter and rifle will play a large part in this.

25/06 is my very favorite all around caliber. I have 4 700's--2 bdl's, a cdl that i haven't scoped yet, and a Mountain Rifle that i love dearly. I have probably kileed 70 or 80 whitetails with a 25. As everyone else here has mentioned, they are deadly accurate and performance is certainly terminal. One of the all time greats in my opinion.
