I like the detachable magazine. My Browning A-Bolt lets me load from the top or bottom, and separate the magazine box from the floorplate. I like the Sako design even better, and entirely separate box. Its easier to empty the magazine with the drop down floor plate though.

I have no problems with blind magazines myself. Just on less thing to leave at the house or to pop open at the wrong time.

Like the Browning the Marlin MR7 has a detatchable box on the drop floor plate. Too Bad they stopped manufacturing the MR7, it's a great rifle.

Travelling while hunting by motor vehicle, motor boat or even an ATV with a loaded firearm is prohibited in Ontario. A charged (removable) magazine does not deem the firearm to be loaded as long as it's not in the firearm. It does allow for quick insertion and loading when required. So the removable magazine is my preference. gg.

I have a 7mm Remington 700 BDL with a drop floor plate. I would rather have a clip instead.

I prefer the detatchable magazine as on the factory 700's.They are simpler and quicker to load and unload than the type browning uses(I owned two browning rifles previously).I have yet to lose or misplace a magazine.
